/me resolves using OpenNIC

I started using OpenNIC (an alternate root nameserver) on my box. The OpenNIC DNS servers are able to resolve all ICANN TLDs. So now you can resolve .com, .net, .in, or .geek (only resolvable on OpenNIC :P ). As I run an instance of pdns_recursor (a resolving DNS server). To start using OpenNIC as root servers in pdns_recursor, add following line to your pdns_recursor configuration file:
hint-file=/etc/pdns-recursor/root.hints
And following are the contents of root.hints file:
;begin OpenNIC SOA/Header
. 86400 IN SOA ns20.opennic.glue. hostmaster.opennic.glue. (
2007100222 ;Serial
10800 ;Refresh after 3 hours
7200 ;Retry after 2 hours
108000 ;Expire after 30 hours
7200) ;Cache TTL of 2 hrs
;end OpenNIC SOA/Header
;begin OpenNIC root pointers

ns22.opennic.glue. 172800 IN A 58.6.115.45
In case you use BIND or some other DNS server, there is an HOWTO for Configuring Tier2 Server.
