  3. Hi, I just installed google gadgets from /usr/ports/deskutils/ in FreeBSD 8.1
Everything seemed to go fine but when I run (in terminal) ggl-gtk, I get a js-script-runtime error.
It seems that this may be because of a missing library.
    I’d welcome your comments.
    Thanks

Could you please try following on your shell:

    % export GRE_HOME=/usr/local/lib/libxul
    % ggl-gtk

    Thanks

Thank you very much for your advice.
That worked perfectly for me and I now have the Google sidebar + several gadgets on my FreeBSD 8.1 screen.
Nevertheless, I note that very, very few of the gadgets available from the “Add gadgets” actually work on this sidebar.
Additionally, I cannot locate any means to alter the color or transparency of the sidebar as is normal in Windows.
Another problem is that the very small Google search bar that shows up on the sidebar in Windows is not available here.
If you have any suggestions about these problems I’d love to hear them.
If not, thanks again and best wishes
    Paul
